THE longstanding annual proclamation of Barnstaple Fair took place last Wednesday in usual fashion.
Dignitaries from across the region, including Barnstaple mayor councillor Val Elkins and her husband and consort Roy, attended the event at the town's Guildhall.
Proceedings were opened by town clerk Will Austin, followed by a series of toasts to the Queen, the fair itself, the prosperity of Barnstaple and the attending guests.
