THE end is nigh for RMB Chivenor's Search and Rescue Squadron which has only one week until it ceases operation.A special event was held at the base yesterday for representatives of the North Devon community, who bid an early farewell to 22 Squadron.The crew will cease operation on October 1 and will be replaced by a new search and rescue service which will be based 50 miles away in St Athan.
