All six tries in the 42-15 home victory against Old Centralians came from the pack.
With Brixham surprisingly beaten 41-6 at home by Hornets, Barnstaple and Exmouth are now out on their own at the top, with Barum leading their Devon rivals by a single point.
Not known for bullying teams up front in recent years, Barnstaple will enjoy the nature of today's win.
