Ikea bosses say there are not enough of their stores in the country as Devon continues to wait for the Exeter branch.
The Swedish furniture company was granted outline planning permission for the store more than two years ago and it has now said it is working on the site together with Exeter City Council.
Gillian Drakeford, the group's UK boss, told the Mail Online she doesn't want anyone across the UK having to drive two-and-a-half hours to get to a store.
