FIREFIGHTERS have been forced to smash into a car at Asda in Bideford to help free a baby who was trapped in the vehicle.
One crew from Bideford Fire Station was called to the car park at 11.15am after the mother of an 18-month-old child accidentally locked both her kid and keys in the Land Rover.
Despite efforts to gain entry to the vehicle using a locksmith, firefighters were eventually forced to break a rear window of the car to help free the child unharmed.
