A shetland pony was rescued by firemen after being stuck upside down in a ditch.
One fire engine from Holsworthy and the Special Rescue Team from Barnstaple were called to help release the pony from a ditch on the road from The Square to Battledown Cross near Shebbear.
At around 4:30pm the pony was rescued from the ditch by fire crews using animal rescue equipment and a tractor.
A vet was also on scene and assessed the pony during and after the rescue.
