BIDEFORD "got their backsides kicked" by Barnstaple Town, but manager Sean Joyce has played down the importance of the result.
Joyce made seven changes for the Evo-Stik League Southern Challenge Cup clash with Barnstaple but ended up on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat.
Sam Stephens, captain for the night and one positive to come out of the clash, scored the only Bideford goal shortly after half-time.
But Barnstaple were already 2-0 up at that stage and added another two after that...
