A CHILD who has only attended 7% of lessons since the start of the school year has landed his mother in court. Donna Lisle, 35, of Sherratts Oak, Barnstaple, appeared at North Devon Magistrates' Court on Friday after pleading guilty to knowingly being responsible for a child who was failing to attend school. A MOTHER has denied assaulting her son's former girlfriend with a baseball bat. Jan Bain, 56, of Duke Street, South Molton, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Imogen Stugg on November 21. During a hearing at North Devon Magistrates' Court on Friday, she also pleaded not guilty to possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
