Joyce made seven changes for the Evo-Stik League Southern Challenge Cup clash with Barnstaple but ended up on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat. Sam Stephens, captain for the night and one positive to come out of the clash, scored the only Bideford goal shortly after half-time. Shaun Copp hit two, assisted Niall Heeney for another and Ryan Turner got one – albeit rather fortuitously – on his return from injury.
